Who’s That Pokémon?
In 2018, I made “Who’s That Pokémon?”, a JavaScript-based web app in an effort to practice coding skills that I had recently learned. The app serves as a game that tests a gamer’s knowledge of various types of Pokémon from the video game series.
The game begins by showing the player a silhouette of a Pokémon, and the player must input the Pokémon’s name into a form field. If the player is correct, they can continue, otherwise they must keep guessing.
If help is needed, the player can view a description of the Pokémon as a hint. If a given silhouette is too difficult to identify, the player may skip it entirely, missing out on points. At the end of the game, a final score is calculated, and presented to the player. Additionally, the player has the option of sharing their score to Facebook or Twitter.
